Our story

We curate beautiful, handcrafted home décor and textiles made in small batches by skilled artisans across India.

Our focus is on timeless design, natural textiles, and traditional techniques — from hand block printing and quilting to indie weaves like kilim and jute. Each piece is chosen for its material honesty, craftsmanship, and ability to be lived with over time.

At the heart of what we do is thoughtful curation. We work closely with makers who follow fair-trade practices and create responsibly, allowing the beauty of handwork to remain visible — subtle variations in print, texture, and finish are not flaws, but part of the story.

We believe in helping people discover things that last. Pieces made slowly, using good materials, that grow more meaningful with use. Along the way, we also hope to share knowledge — about traditional crafts, regional techniques, and the stories behind them — starting with hand block printing, kilim weaving, and jute work.

Indeave is run by a couple who spend an inordinate amount of time talking about textiles, materials, and why good design matters.

Meet the humans

Akshay Grover

Akshay Grover

Founder and chief curator

A chef by education, Akshay’s journey into textiles began long before Indeave. He was part of starting one of Chennai’s first organic stores, went on to run a couple of restaurants in Bangalore, and eventually found his way back to a lifelong love for home and craft. That passion took shape over a decade ago when he and his mother opened a small home décor store in Bangalore called Linen Haus — a space rooted in natural materials, thoughtful design, and slow craftsmanship.

What started as a modest store has since grown into two Linen Haus locations, with Akshay’s father and sister now part of the family business. Over the years, Akshay has spent countless hours learning about textiles firsthand — working closely with block printers in Jaipur, understanding materials, and developing a deep respect for traditional techniques.

With more than 10 years of experience in curating handcrafted home products, Akshay has an instinctive eye for quality and timeless design. His aesthetic is understated, grounded, and quietly confident — and once he discovers a new textile technique, he’s a natural evangelist for it.

Megha Bhattacharya

Megha Bhattacharya

Glorified geek of the operation

By day, she works a corporate role behind a laptop. By night (and weekends), she’s the unpaid intern at Indeave — building this website, running social media, shaping content, and slowly turning herself into a reluctant content creator. Because let’s face it: are you really running a small business today without doing a bit of influencing?

Curation and storytelling are her corner of the brand. She’s drawn to the stories behind each product and each artisan, and to pieces that spark emotion — the kind that make a home feel warm, personal, and a little joyful. An unapologetic lover of colour and pattern, Megha gravitates toward offbeat, old prints that feel at home in modern, maximalist spaces.

Craving tactile balance to screen-heavy days, she spends her free time crafting and practicing pottery, often at the wheel, throwing clay and slowing things down.

Thankfully, Akshay’s elegant restraint keeps her colourful impulses in check — preventing their home (and the collection) from tipping into full unicorn-energy chaos.
